Pediatric/Adolescent

As part of our care team, we have pediatric dermatologists to manage skin conditions most common among children from birth through to adolescence, such as birthmarks, eczema, warts or psoriasis.

Often times pediatricians will specifically refer a child to a pediatric dermatologist, as opposed to a general dermatologist. All pediatric dermatologists are medical doctors that have an additional one year of specialty pediatrics internship training, two years of dermatology residency training and one to three years of pediatric dermatology fellowship training.

This additional pediatric-focused training helps when younger patients cannot always clearly state what’s bothering them or answer medical questions accurately. Our pediatric dermatologists have the expertise to overcome these challenges, so that they can successfully diagnosis and treat the condition, all while making your child feel at ease.
What services do pediatric dermatologists provide?

Pediatric dermatologists provide medical care for a variety of skin conditions and generally offer the following services:

Diagnosis and treatment of various skin conditions, including contact dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, vitiligo, hives, warts, hemangiomas, birthmarks, and congenital skin disorders
Medical and/or surgical treatment of skin conditions such as warts and molluscum
Skin biopsies

In this section, we have provided patient information and education pertaining to some of the most common pediatric skin conditions. This content should serve as a supplement, not a replacement, to a doctor’s examination. All of our providers have the training and skill required to accurately diagnose, treat and achieve the best possible results.
